After a long hiatus, I am finally starting to get back into the swing of things. To kick off the new beginning, I have decided to start a new series here called the WEEKEND edit. It will be a collective of my thoughts, things I'm loving and and a way to close out the week and usher in the weekend.
all the feels
This week presented to be a bit more challenging than most weeks.
I've been feeling so overwhelmed for weeks now, and have had so many breakdowns within this week alone. Part of it has been because I felt disconnected from this space, I wasn't writing, I wasn't creating. As much as I wanted to do these things I just couldn't.
On top of those feelings, I had one of the final photoshoots for the project I've been working on with Express. The preparation for this photoshoot was beyond tedious. I spent days and hours painting, building furniture, and finding minimal decorative pieces. I didn't have a second to catch my breath and was on the way to burning out. As someone who is a perfectionist, I wanted everything to so badly be perfect that I was driving myself insane. However on the day of the shoot I had to let go because I was no longer in control.
the updated interior
As stressful as it was putting this shoot together, I'm glad to say it went very well. I can't wait to see the final edits and introduce you all to the Live in Luxe collection this fall. This experience quickly taught me that its okay if things are not perfect. There is so much beauty in imperfections, I just need to learn to embrace it.
the pre-fall/winter on sale finds
If you decide to indulge in the Labor day sales here are a few items from my favorite retailers that are worth the spend. Mango is having a 30% of sale on all items. Madewell is also having an incredible sale of up to 50% off. H&M and Cotton On are two other great retailer to shop for jeans and they're both having a 20% off sale.
