As a blogger I spend most of my day with my eyes glued to a screen. I had convinced myself that more screen time meant I was getting more things done but to be honest it's starting to have a detrimental effect on me. I've started getting frequent headaches, my eyes have become hypersensitive towards light, and I'm so fatigued all the time. I had to make some changes otherwise I was headed towards burnout.

Turn it Off for a While
One of the hardest things to do is find balance between work and time for yourself, more especially when you work in a field that is so demanding. When I can I try to squeeze in moments where I can turn my phone to Do Not Disturb or close my computer for a while and do something that doesn't require me looking at a screen so I can rest my eyes.

"Work Smarter Not Harder"
I've committed myself to not working more than I have to. I create lists and prioritize critical items so I can optimize my time and productivity. Secondly I decided to shorten my blog work days to Monday through Thursday, and unless it's critical it will have to wait until Monday.
Take Care of You First,
the Rest will Follow
So what do I do when I'm not succumbed to my computer and phone? Some days I'll sit outside with a bowl of raspberries and assorted fruits and read a book. I used to read all the time in middle school and I forgot how therapeutic that can be.
Other days, I'll go to the beach, although I've limited my domestic travels since I'll be traveling oversees in a few weeks. I love the feeling of my feet in the sand, I think it has something to do with being an earth sign but I can sit at the beach for hours. Spending time doing things that you like gives your brain a break which is the ultimate way to boost productivity.

Oh youre absolutely rtight – I’m also finding myself to be too long in front of my laptop where I could have probably saved some time just being more effective and then turning it off .. 😉

Thank you so much Sonia, honestly I’ve found that the physical written lists really help me get more done! It’s also so rewarding when you get to cross things off your list! xx
Love this post and your tips! Sometimes it gets so difficult to balance my full-time job with my blogger work. I get the feeling of burnout and it’s so horrible when this happens. Thanks for sharing this useful post!

These are good tips hon! Very important to be able to switch the Off button to allow time for inspiration to build, ideas to grow…to stay in love with your passion because the thing is with the saturation of blogs these days, it gets harder and harder to stay on the Ferris wheel. Have a good week ( :
